St. Charles (3-0) @ Beechcroft (1-2)
St. Charles moves to 3-0 and beats its second City League opponent this
season, in Beechcroft.  After a scoreless first quarter, B.J. Watkins of the
Cougars tried to get it going on the ground.  St. Charles would score on a
Zack Vesco to Joey Francis 14 yard touchdown pass.  Watkins answered
with a six yard rushing TD.  Right back came the Cardinals with a
touchdown, but Beechcroft answered with a another Watkin's touchdown.  At
the half, the score was 14-12 in favor of St. Charles, the difference being a
missed extra point and two point attempt by the Cougars.  The game would
go back in forth until the fourth quarter when Steven Roby scored from six
yards out for the Cardinals and put the game away.

Marvin Stewart of Beechcroft finished the game with 78 passing yards and
63 rushing.  B.J. Watkins rushed for only 39 yards and two touchdowns.

Chaminade-Jullienne (1-2) @ Brookhaven (2-1)
After a missed extra point it appeared that special teams could cause a
second consecutive loss.  That extra point caused them to be trailing at the
half by one point.  Last week's game must have a been a great learning
experience because the Bearcats outscored Dayton Chaminade 14-7 in the
second half to secure the win.

The Bearcats were led once again on the ground by Rodney Stewart and
this week the passing game was impressive, led by Aquante' Braswell's
three touchdown performance.

Ready (3-0) @ Centennial (0-3)
Things got out of hand quickly in this one, as Ready scored the game's first
44 points.  It has been a tough year for the Centennial Stars but they
continue to work hard and improve.  The lone bright spot in this contest for
the Stars was Tyler Hilliard's  two rushing touchdowns (2,92).

Aiken (2-1) @ East (1-2)
East was obviously tired of being winless as they jumped out to a 22-0 lead
over Cincinnati Aiken.  Aiken would rally back to tie the game but on the
ensuing kickoff, sophomore running back Anthony Curry returned it for 98
yards and the score.  That was all East needed as Curry finished with 232
yards on the ground and all of East's four touchdowns.

Cincinnati Taft (2-1) @ Linden (1-2)
After winning last week, Linden found it tough going against Cincinnati Taft.
After Taft jumped out to a 36-0 lead Linden could only score on a defensive
safety.

Mifflin (0-3) @ Walnut Ridge (2-1)
The mighty Scots of Walnut Ridge have no problem with the Punchers of
Mifflin, winning 38-6.  The Scots were once again led by quarterback Alvin
Busbee who threw for three touchdowns for the second week in a row.  Two
of those touchdowns went to senior Chris Harvey who has been an
interception machine in the Walnut Ridge secondary.

Franklin Heights (3-0) @ West (1-2)
West blew a 29-20 second half lead by turning the ball over inside their own
ten yard line.  Franklin Heights would capitalize on these mistakes and
would sneak out with a 34-29 victory.  West has to be disappointed as this it
the second close game they let get away.  Fridays game was a tough task
for the Cowboys, they were without four starters who were suspended for
unspecified reasons.
Northland (1-2) @ Marion-Franklin (2-1)
If you were waiting for the Marion Franklin Red Devils to have a down year
and lose to an upstart Northland Viking team, then you are still waiting.  The
Red Devils showed excellent team speed and controlled the battles in the
trenches.  The Devil's defense was able to cause several turnovers, one
was a fumble that Tyrell Massey scooped up and ran in for six.

Marion Franklin was paced by yet another solid performance by Bobby
Harris, with 118 rushing yards and two touchdowns.

South (0-3) @ Whetstone (2-1)
Whetstone continues to roll, while South is struggling to find offense.
Whetsone scored the first 27 points of the contest and South only added a
touchdown late as the Brave's move to 2-1.  Michael Haynes had two
rushing touchdowns for Whetstone.

Africentric (2-0) @ Canton Timken (1-1)
Saturday @ 7pm in Canton

Briggs (0-3) @ Hilliard Darby (3-0)
As many teams have done this season, Briggs struggled against Hilliard
Darby.  Darby won easily 62-0.

Eastmoor (3-0) @ Grandview Heights (1-2)
After jumping out to a 20-0 lead, Eastmoor survived a scare to beat
Grandview 26-21.  Early on, Eastmoor's Isaiah Pead was controlling the
game with two first quarter touchdowns.  Cramping and fatigue limited his
contributions for most of the game from that moment forward.  In the third,
Grandview actually took the lead  21-20.  Like all the great ones do, Pead
mustered up enough energy to score on a 61 yard run and that was all
Eastmoor would need.

Independence (0-3) @ Hilliard Davidson (2-1)
Independence is a team that is steadily improving from week to week.
Week three they had the tough task of playing the defending DI state champ
Hilliard Davidson.  The Sixers fought hard and only trailed 22-9 at the half,
but Davidson turned it on in the second and won convincingly 44-9.

All of Independence's points were scored by Luther Nicholas (field goal and
touchdown).
