Africentric wins their 5th consecutive District Title
After dismantling their first two opponents in the OHSAA tournament by averaging 84 points a game, the Lady Nubians continued their winning streak Friday
night by knocking off the Ridgewood Rockets in the District Semi's.
Africentric took the first quarter under control right from the tip-off. They pressed Ridgewood, which turned into turnovers in favor of the Lady Nubians, which
translated into easy points. This was nothing new to Africentric, and they led going into half time 37 to 17. The second half didn't get any easier for
Ridgewood, but give them credit, they did not go away. Africentric's Raven Ferguson was just too much, as she pulled down rebound after rebound, while
leading her team in scoring with 18. Kerissa Johnson of Ridgewood lead her team with 15 points. The final, 73 to 32. The Lady Nubians now await the winner
if the Lucasville Valley/Waterford winner in the regional semi-finals.
